Community Banks: Bettering Communities Across America

posted 4/22/2015 in Banking

In communities across the state of Iowa and the United States, there are people who care about the cities and towns they serve. These people offer products and services at their job, sure, but their mission goes beyond making profits. They take these profits and use them to better their communities and work for Main Street America.

These people also work outside of their jobs to better their communities. They serve on boards of local organizations and devote their time, talents and personal finances to make sure their city or town is a great place to live and work.

Who are these people? The staff members at community banks like Lincoln Savings Bank.

April is Community Banking Month, a time to recognize the importance and role of community banks. Like over 2,500 other community banks in the U.S., Lincoln Savings Bank has been serving communities in central and northeast Iowa for over 100 years.

Our history as a community bank has allowed us to do many things:

  • We have come to know and love our communities

  • We understand the financial challenges facing individuals, families and businesses in our communities

  • Knowing the obstacles allows us to provide solutions for the betterment of the entire community

These things are not only applicable to Lincoln Savings Bank as a company, but they also extend to our staff members and officers. Our staff uses their time, talents, and money to support community organizations, serve on boards of local non-profits, and serve their community in a variety of ways.

We are inseparably connected to our communities. When our communities suffer, so do we; when they flourish, we do as well. It is this bond that keeps us coming back day after day to serve the residents, entrepreneurs and longstanding farming and agricultural enterprises that are the foundation of our communities.

So, we simply want to say, “Happy Community Banking Month.” Our customers are the foundation of the bank, allowing us to serve the greater community. No matter the twists and turns your financial life takes, you can always be assured that we are here to help any way we can.

As always, we look forward to seeing or hearing from you soon.
