Last Minute Spring Break Ideas

posted 3/16/2015 in General

For those of you with kids still in school, Spring Break time is here. Perhaps you have a great trip planned, or have planned a great “staycation” using tips from our previous blog post. However, if you still don’t have anything planned but would like to get away for a few days, Lincoln Savings Bank has a few ideas.

Below are a few last minute Spring Break ideas for you, your spouse and your kids. In terms of trips, they are low cost options, but provide great chances for fun while spending quality time with your family. Take a look and start planning today!

Go Camping

Campsites are readily available no matter where you live. They don’t generally cost much to have for a weekend in comparison to a hotel room. Plus, you get to enjoy the outdoors and perhaps re-live some memories you have of camping as a kid.

Hit the Road

Road trips, by yourself or with a spouse or friends, can be just as enjoyable as jetting off to an exotic location. Check with any relatives or friends who live within driving distance if it’s okay to stay with them for a few days if you don’t want to shell out for a hotel room. Also, be sure that your vehicle is serviced and ready to hit the road for a few days.

Take an Alternative Break

If you love helping others, see if you can find a group or organization that is taking a service trip. An alternative break not only allows you to get away from the grind of your daily life for a little while, but also puts you in a position to help others. If you cannot find a service trip, take a few days out of the week to volunteer with community organizations near you.

Tour the State

Have you seen everything your state has to offer? Chances are you haven’t. Make a list of all the things you want to see or experience, then set out with your family to check them off over the course of Spring Break.

No matter where you go, be sure to let Lincoln Savings Bank know about your travel plans so we know any purchases being made in different areas are legitimate.

We hope you and your family get to spend some quality time together this Spring Break. If there is anything Lincoln Savings Bank can do to help, we are a call or visit away!
