Plan Your Way to Success for Black Friday

posted 11/19/2014 in General

There are certain days of the year that involve a lot more stress than others; Black Friday is definitely one of those days. Black Friday seems to get more chaotic every year with more and more stores being open earlier and earlier.

If you’re heading out on this crazy day, it’s important to make it worth your while. That means having a plan before you head out. Lincoln Savings Bank wants to ensure that your day of shopping is the best it can be, so we’re here to help with a few tips.

Figure Out What You Need

Be sure to make a list of all the people you are getting gifts for. Next to each of their names, write down what you know they want or things they are interested in. This will give you a better idea about which stores to look at.

Do Your Research

Finding the right product you’re looking for is only part of the battle. Finding the best price is what Black Friday is all about, so look online and through the newspaper or online ads to find the lowest price on what you need.

Plan Out the Day

When Black Friday finally arrives, you will want to hit the ground running. The night before, plan out your day from start to end:

  • What time you’ll be leaving

  • Where you’re going

  • How long you’re going to be at each store

These things, along with your previously created lists, will help you stay on task and get through the day easier.

Relax

No matter what, you have to keep your cool. People may bump into you or be rude to you. Just stay calm, and if you need to, find a bathroom or changing room to blow off some steam or take a rest.

Black Friday is stressful enough, so be sure to make a plan to keep it as stress-free as possible. We hope everyone stays safe while out on Black Friday. If there’s anything Lincoln Savings Bank can do to help, feel free to let us know!
