Bill Kostow Wins Award
BILL KOSTOW AWARDED FOR SERVICE TO COMMUNITY BY THE GRINNELL AREA CHAMBER OF COMMERCE
Grinnell, IA - March 15, 2019 – Bill Kostow, a Mortgage Lender in Lincoln Savings Bank's Grinnell office, was awarded with the One to Watch award during the Grinnell Area Chamber of Commerce's 2019 Annual Celebration.
Each year the Grinnell Area Chamber of Commerce hosts this celebration to honor and recognize businesses and members of the community who truly make an impact on those around them.
"The One to Watch award recognizes individuals who have started businesses, expanded operations or done exemplary work as part of an organization. These individuals strive toward the highest levels of personal and professional accomplishment, and serve as role models for others in the business community," said Rachael Kinnick, Executive Director for the Grinnell Area Chamber of Commerce.
When asked to describe Kostow, Kinnick said, "He's a leader with core values, and understands community and faith. He teaches these values to the children in our community through his active involvement in sports teams as a coach, volunteer, and supporter. His mentorship, knowledge, and energy are contagious."
Kostow has been working as a Mortgage Lender with Lincoln Savings Bank for over three years. During that time, he has found a great passion for serving the Grinnell community both on and off the clock. Kostow is currently active volunteering in the following organizations:
- Big Brothers Big Sisters – Current BIG and Member of the Board.
- PLP Advisory Council – Active Council Member.
- Grinnell Tiger Boost Board – Current Board Treasurer.
- Grinnell Little League Board – Current Board Treasurer.
- Poweshiek County Compensation Board – Sheriff's Department Representative.
- Grinnell Recreational Department – Soccer Coach.
- Grinnell Little League – Baseball Coach.
- Traveling Basketball Team – Basketball Coach.
- Grinnell School District – Story-Time Volunteer Reader.
- Entrepreneur of the Day – Volunteer Participant for the Fifth Grade Class.
"Building strong communities is one of [Lincoln Savings Bank's] core values and volunteering is one way that I feel like I can help my community. The town of Grinnell has given me so much! I feel as though supporting and mentoring Grinnell’s next generation is the least I could do to help," Kostow said.
"His number one rule is to have fun, and the second is to listen. These rules albeit basic, are refreshing and thought provoking whether in a work environment or on the courts," Kinnick commented.
